On March 3, the rector Miguel Ángel Castro together with the deans Luis Cristóbal Capitán Morales and María Álvarez de Sotomayor, from the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy respectively; met in the auditorium of the University of Seville to present the recent winners in the ideas competition for the new faculties of Medicine and Pharmacy. In addition to the winning teams, the current dean of the Official College of Architects of Seville, Cristina Murillo, as well as the general director of Espacio Universitario de la US, Francisco Montero, attended the event.

The Dean of Medicine, Luis Cristóbal Capitán Morales, has expressed the “enormous joy” that the improvement of its facilities represents for the faculty, and praised the ideas contest proposals for “combining the need to reform the space with sustainability and with achieve harmony and unity” of all the buildings that make up the Medicine campus. The dean pointed out that this work “will allow the generation of a common space that was sorely needed” on the Macarena Hospital campus.
